If dating is practice for finding a life mate then he should be acting like it. If you can't get him to see it your way leave him. Life is too short.

I'm going to condemn your decision, here's why:
You need to force the issue. Break up with him but tell him why then start getting on with your life. If it's meant to be he'll make the change and be willing to work it out with you if not then it's simply not meant to be. Whatever happens you'll be stronger for it trust me.
